 Stop looking for free rides; you can be hurt. NYSC's head of corps issues a warning

Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Fadah, the director-general of the National Youth Service Corps, has warned corps members against soliciting rides from passing cars. He emphasized to the corps members that they were accountable for their own safety.

When boarding automobiles for their trips, Mr. Fadah encouraged students to always go to the proper motor parks since "you may wind up in a dangerous area when hunting for a free ride."

"Please avoid nighttime travel, and if you must, break your journey once it reaches 6 p.m., go to the nearest NYSC lodge, police station, or other police facilities, and stay there until the next day," he continued.

Additionally, the director-general advised corps members taking part in the general elections of 2023 to play by the norms of the polls.

During his camp inspection tour to the state's NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wailo in the Ganjuwa Local Government Area, he made the call on Sunday in Bauchi.

He asserts that corps members are supposed to act impartially and impartially in any political action.

"For the one year that you are serving, you may have sympathy for or interest in a political party Just keep it between yourself please.

"After serving your country, you have the right to join any political party that you deem deserving of your support. Please refrain from getting involved in politics, the DG urged.

Earlier, 1,511 corps members had been registered in the camp for the 2022 Batch B stream II NYSC duty, according to Namadi Abubakar, the state coordinator for NYSC.

Out of the total, he stated that 766 of them were male and 745 were female, adding that they had been acting responsibly and taking part in all the camp activities.
